Fellowship

These organizations, committees and ministries, established by our congregation and Church Council, ensure we remain a worshipping, learning, witnessing and serving congregation. Our ‘Sonshiners’ are a group of members and friends of our congregation who are 55 plus. They gather for fellowship, devotions, education and fun. Daytrips are also planned. The Sonshiners typically meet monthly. The Sunshiners organize an annual bowling league, which runs from September to about May. Bowlers meet on Fridays at the Capri Center Mall Lanes, 154-1835 Gordon Ave, in Kelowna at 1:30 PM.  
 
Our Men’s Breakfast Group meets the 2nd Saturday of each month at 8:30 at the Sunrise Grill, Comfort Inn, 1655 Westgate (on Highway 97), for devotion, food and fellowship. Men of all ages are welcome.  The men meet monthly from September through June.   
 
Our Ladies’ Breakfast Group meets the 1st Saturday of each month at 9:30 AM, Grace Lutheran Church, for devotion, food and fellowship. Women of all ages are welcome.  Babysitting is provided upon request.  

The loss of a loved one, most especially a spouse, leaves a large void in the life of a surviving spouse. It is difficult to understand the profound nature of the loss of a spouse, unless one has experienced such a loss. One who has suffered such a loss is most able to console and support a fellow traveler on life’s road without a spouse. It is for this reason two special groups in our congregation meet.
 
The widows of our congregation, known as the Happiness Group, get together monthly for spiritual and emotional support. The members typically meet for lunch at a home or restaurant and spend time in devotion, prayer and visiting. 
 
The widowers of our congregation, known as the Single Men’s Luncheon Group, also meet monthly for spiritual and emotional support. The members typically meet for lunch at a home or restaurant and spend time in devotion, prayer and visiting.
