Children's Church

[And] Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

God is active in our lives all the time! This year in Sunday school this is the focus we want to take. The material that we are using is called “God’s hand in our lives” It is a biblically based Sunday school material that will take your children through fun and exciting stories that teach them about who God is and how He loves and cherishes His people.
 
Sunday school is held during our regular time of worship, which begins at 10:30 AM. The children remain in the main sanctuary with us from 10:30 through the Pastor’s Children’s time (10:45). Sunday school is open to all children ages 3 through to grade 6. Jan. 2010: The first thing I want to say is, THANK YOU! The Christmas Pageant on the 13th of Dec. was amazing. Thank you to the teachers and parents for all your support and help. We are now into a new year and we are looking forward to so many things this Spring including Lent and Easter. This is a busy time in the church year but it is also a great time where we get the whole story of Jesus’ life and ministry. The kids in Sunday School will be continuing their lessons in both the Old and New Testament in order to give them a broad sense of God’s Word! Sunday school is at 10:45 every Sunday morning, hope to see you there! 

Dec. 2009: Sunday school is now in full swing. The teachers are in the groove and doing an amazing job, Deni Skutshek and Leah Green are leading them in music times and the kids are learning about our amazing God. Sunday school happens at 10:45 every Sunday. We are gearing up for some fun times and great learning. A few points of interest: First is that our Christmas Pageant worship is on the 13th of December.  On Dec.12th at 11:00 am we will be having a rehearsal for the Sunday school portion of the Pageant. Please bring your children so that we can get them set up with costumes and so that they can practice their song in the Sanctuary before the 13th. On the Dec 13th take note that there will be no Sunday school because of the Pageant. The 20th of December will be a special Sunday School with fun treats and a large group craft and then on the 27th there will be no Sunday School. 

Kid’s Club 

Do you like to have fun? Do you enjoy hanging out with other kids, playing games, watching movies and hearing cool stories? Then Kids Club is the place for you. If you are in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade join us on the first and third Wednesdays of every month from 6:30 until 7:45pm.

We also have exciting additional Kid’s Club activities periodically through the year. These will always be announced in advance, in our Sunday bulletins and our on-line calendar. Hope to see you soon!

Dec. 2009: Kid’s club is growing!!! We have had a strong group coming now on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month. This specific ministry is a real joy for me. The kids are very enthusiastic and come ready to learn and have fun! This year we are diving right into the things they encounter in everyday life. Movies have a great impact these days on how our kids interact with one another and view the world. One popular book and movie series that has dominated children’s imaginations is that of Harry Potter. In the church this can be a sensitive topic with all the spells and witches and monsters. It is true that all of that is a part of Harry Potter but there are some great Christian lessons that we can pull out of this movie.  All K-6 graders please come and join us for these fun times on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s of every month!!
